How ADHD and Autism are guiding the evolution of my content
A little insight into how I’m planning to evolve and expand
One of the challenges of being ADHD is the seemingly limitless supply of interests that bubble up into a hyper-fixation, only to be abandoned shortly after. It’s an exercise of jumping from one lily pad to another before falling under the water.

One of the challenges of being Autistic, is the desire to know absolutely everything there is to know about whatever captures my attention. This is bundled with the ever-present understanding that there is simply too much to possibly learn everything there is to know about a subject. Going a step further, being Autistic also leaves me incapable of ignoring the connections between various systems, causing my overwhelm with all there is to know to cascade into mental collapse.
The combination of these two attributes, leave me with a head full of deep knowledge about a handful of subjects and a million ideas of what to do with it.
But, what exactly is someone supposed to do when they are a person of multiple interests with deep, but not complete, knowledge of those various subjects?
A single blog or Youtube channel quickly grows out of control and spirals into a chaotic mix of subjects, some closely associated and others seemingly unrelated. This can be hard to follow and even harder to build an audience around. Further, there is a pervasive belief if someone presents themselves as having multiple areas of expertise, they must do none of them particularly well. Admittedly, it was a challenge to shake this cultural narrative from my brain.
Everything, Everywhere, All At Once

The phrase “everything, everywhere, all at once” is an almost perfect encapsulation of what my mind feels like on a daily basis.
Tangent: It also happens to be my favorite film of all time.
Rather than run from this, I’m choosing to embrace it by indulging all of my interests, across the web, at the same time. Instead of trying to stuff all of my interests into a single channel, I’m going to setup playgrounds around the web, with some simple indexes and wayfinding for those who are interested.
While in the past, I’ve tried to reign in my multiple passions, in pursuit of short term goals, I’m deciding to take a longer view of things, and allow myself more room to play in 2024 and beyond. Right now, I’m just trying to figure how all of the pieces fit together.
